Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Paper Towels
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • cooking spray for the air fryer basket

Instructions

  • Wash the green beans thoroughly under cold water and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Trim the ends and remove any strings.
  • Place the dried green beans in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss gently until every bean is lightly coated.
  • In a separate small bowl, combine the freshly grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • Sprinkle the Parmesan mixture over the oiled green beans and toss gently to ensure even coating.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 2 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the coated green beans in a single layer in your air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on your air fryer's size.
  • Cook for 5 minutes, then shake the basket or use tongs to turn the beans. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes until the beans are tender-crisp and the Parmesan coating is golden and crispy.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

For maximum crispiness, make sure your green beans are completely dry before coating them with oil.
Freshly grated Parmesan works better than pre-shredded cheese, which contains anti-caking agents.
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket - cook in batches if needed for best results.
These green beans are best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
