Ingredients

Cocktail Ingredients

  • 2 oz reposado tequila silver tequila works too
  • 4 oz fresh apple cider unfiltered gives best flavor
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur Cointreau or Grand Marnier preferred
  • 1/4 oz cinnamon-infused simple syrup or maple syrup for deeper flavor
  • ice cubes

Garnish & Rim

  • 1 apple slice for garnish
  • 1 cinnamon stick for garnish
  • 2 tbsp sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon for rim (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon for rim mixture (optional)

Instructions

  • If using a cinnamon sugar rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass to moisten it. Pour the cinnamon sugar mixture onto a small plate and dip the moistened rim into it, rotating gently to coat evenly. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apple cider, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and cinnamon-infused simple syrup.
  • Add a generous amount of ice to your cocktail shaker. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until condensation forms on the outside of the shaker.
  • Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass over fresh ice. For best results, use a double-straining technique through the shaker's built-in strainer and a fine mesh strainer.
  • Garnish your Apple Cider Margarita with a thin apple slice and cinnamon stick. For an extra touch, lightly toast the end of your cinnamon stick with a kitchen torch before adding it. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version that reduces sugar content by up to 30%, try replacing half the apple cider with unsweetened apple-flavored sparkling water, or use agave nectar instead of cinnamon simple syrup.
Avoid using artificial apple cider or bottled lime juice for the best flavor.
You can premix the non-alcoholic components up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate in a sealed container, adding the alcoholic components just before serving.
