Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with "the mother"
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice approximately half a medium lemon
  • 1-2 teaspoons raw honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 8 ounces filtered water warm or cold

Spices and Enhancements

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch cayenne pepper optional, for metabolism boost
  • 1-2 slices fresh ginger thin slices, or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

For Serving

  • ice cubes optional

Instructions
 

  • Start with your 8 ounces of filtered water. If you prefer a warming tonic, heat the water until warm but not boiling. For a refreshing cold version, use room temperature or cold water.
  • Measure and add 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to your water. Be sure to use ACV with "the mother" for maximum benefits.
  • Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice and add your chosen sweetener (honey or maple syrup).
  • Add the cinnamon, optional cayenne pepper, and ginger to your mixture.
  • Stir the mixture well or shake in a sealed container until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the sweetener has dissolved completely.
  • Pour your detox drink into a glass, add ice if desired, and sip slowly to allow your body to adjust to the acidity and maximize absorption of nutrients.

Notes

Consider using a straw to protect your tooth enamel from the acidity of the vinegar and lemon juice.
Best consumed first thing in the morning, 20 minutes before eating, or between meals.
Never consume undiluted ACV as it can damage tooth enamel and irritate your esophagus.
Store in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days if making a larger batch.
