Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Serving Bowl

Ingredients

Dip Base

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature (2 blocks)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream substitute Greek yogurt for a tangier, lighter option
  • 3 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning plus extra for garnish
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder for a milder flavor)

Fresh Herbs & Flavors

  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (optional but highly recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest adds a bright note that balances the savory elements
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese adds depth and umami
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes. The texture should be light and airy – this is your foundation, so take the time to eliminate any lumps for that perfect silky consistency.
  • Fold in the sour cream, minced garlic, chopped chives, dill, lemon zest, and Parmesan cheese. Stir gently but thoroughly to maintain the light texture while ensuring even distribution.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of everything bagel seasoning and mix until evenly distributed. Reserve the remaining tablespoon for the top.
  • Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed. Remember that everything bagel seasoning already contains salt, so add additional salt cautiously.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning on top, and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

For a stunning presentation, serve in a hollowed-out round bread bowl with the torn bread pieces arranged around the edge for dipping.
This dip keeps beautifully in the refrigerator for up to 5 days when stored in an airtight container. The flavors actually intensify over the first 24 hours, making this an ideal make-ahead option for entertaining.
Do not freeze this dip, as the dairy components will separate upon thawing, resulting in an unpleasant texture.
