Equipment

  • Electric Mixer
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Serving Bowl

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened (2 blocks)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Duke's recommended
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp provides more depth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix 1 oz

Add-ins and Toppings

  • 6 slices bacon cooked crispy and crumbled
  • 4 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño seeds removed and finely diced (optional)

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine softened cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until completely smooth and fluffy.
  • Mix in the ranch seasoning packet, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Fold in the sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, most of the crumbled bacon (reserve 2 tablespoons for topping), and most of the green onions (reserve 1 tablespoon for garnish). If using jalapeño, add it now. Mix until just combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into a serving bowl, creating textural swirls on top. Cover with plastic wrap directly touching the surface and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Just before serving, sprinkle with reserved bacon crumbles and green onions.

Notes

Room temperature cream cheese is essential for a smooth dip without lumps.
For a lighter version, use light cream cheese, Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, and turkey bacon.
The dip tastes even better when made a day ahead, allowing flavors to fully meld.
Not suitable for freezing due to dairy separation.
