Equipment

  • Large Pitcher
  • Whisk
  • Serving Glasses

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Moscato wine 750ml, chilled
  • 1 cup pineapple juice fresh if possible
  • 1/4 cup coconut cream
  • 2 tablespoons coconut rum optional

Fruits and Garnishes

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 banana sliced
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher, combine the chilled Moscato wine and pineapple juice. Stir gently to blend these foundational flavors without disturbing the wine's delicate effervescence.
  • Whisk the coconut cream in a separate bowl until smooth (especially important if it's separated in the can). Then slowly pour it into the wine mixture, stirring constantly. If you're including coconut rum, add it now.
  • Gently fold in the fresh pineapple chunks and banana slices.
  • Sprinkle half of the shredded coconut into the mixture and stir gently. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • When ready to serve, add ice cubes to glasses (not the pitcher, to prevent dilution). Pour the sangria, ensuring each glass gets some fruit pieces. Garnish with remaining shredded coconut and maraschino cherries.

Notes

Moscato Pina Colada Sangria is best consumed within 24 hours of preparation, as the banana can discolor after this time. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white grape juice for the wine and omit the rum. You can customize the sweetness level by using different types of white wine - Pinot Grigio will make a less sweet version than Moscato.
