Equipment

  • Serving Platter

Ingredients

For the Base

  • 4-5 crisp apples Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady work beautifully
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice prevents browning and adds a subtle tang

For the Caramel Drizzle

  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade

For the Toppings

  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or peanuts
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut optional
  • 3 tablespoons sprinkles for visual pop
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows adds a delightful chewiness

Instructions

  • Wash, core, and slice your apples into thin, even wedges (about 1/4 inch thick). Immediately toss the slices in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a circular pattern on a large serving platter, working from the outside in. Slightly overlap the edges for better presentation.
  • Heat your caramel sauce for 20-30 seconds in the microwave until it reaches a pourable consistency. Using a spoon, generously drizzle the warm caramel over the apple slices in a zigzag pattern.
  • Immediately sprinkle half of your chocolate chips and nuts over the caramel-coated apples.
  • Add a second, lighter drizzle of caramel, followed by the remaining chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, and marshmallows.
  • Crown your creation with a festive sprinkle of rainbow jimmies or seasonal sprinkles to add that viral-worthy color pop.

Notes

For a healthier version, use date caramel (blend 1 cup soaked dates with 2 tablespoons almond milk and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla) to cut sugar by nearly 40%.
Try swapping caramel for melted peanut butter or chocolate hazelnut spread.
This dessert is best enjoyed immediately after assembly.
