White Citrus Sangria 1

White Citrus Sangria

This bright, zesty, and super refreshing cocktail is loaded with lemons, limes, and oranges, creating the perfect palate cleanser for those hot summer days. Unlike traditional red sangrias that can feel heavy, this White Citrus Sangria offers a lighter, more invigorating experience that celebrates the natural vibrancy of citrus fruits while providing that much-needed respite from the heat.

Equipment

  • Large Glass Pitcher

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine 750ml, Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc recommended
  • 1/4 cup triple sec or Cointreau
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar adjust to taste
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 1 lime thinly sliced
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 cup club soda or sparkling water
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Wash all citrus fruits thoroughly. Slice your lemons, limes, and oranges into thin, elegant rounds about 1/4 inch thick. Lightly squeeze each slice to release some of the essential oils before adding to your mixture.
  • In a large glass pitcher, combine the white wine and triple sec. Stir gently. If you prefer a sweeter sangria, add your honey or agave, stirring until completely dissolved.
  • Add your prepared citrus slices to the wine mixture, gently pressing them down to ensure they're fully immersed.
  • Cover your pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, though overnight infusion (24 hours) yields more flavor development.
  • Just before serving, add the club soda and gently stir to maintain carbonation. Add ice to glasses rather than the pitcher to prevent dilution. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

For a less alcoholic version, replace triple sec with orange juice. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile. Consider using frozen fruit instead of ice cubes to maintain flavor as the drink dilutes.
